“ Know Your Enemy” Another spirit we come up against a lot is the spirit of death. It can be manifested through murder, suicide or the spirit of antichrist. These will all lead people to spiritual death, maybe even physical death, because there are people who take their own lives, but that is usually because they are driven often times by the spirit of suicide. One of our intercessors was stuck a lot of traffic one time and stopped where the policeman was. She said, "Is something wrong?” He said, "Look up there.” She looked up and on one of our buildings was a man ready to jump and he was far enough out on the ledge that people behind him couldn't reach him. So right away she said, "Lord, how should I pray?" He said, "Take authority over the spirit of suicide right away.” She did and the minute she took authority over the spirit of suicide, the man fell back briefly, but just enough so the men behind him could reach him. So he did not jump. We always ask. Another of our intercessors was in a car driving home and heard on the radio that a man had abducted a small child. Now the chances of ever seeing that child alive are very slim, as you know. Again, this intercessor said, "How should I pray, Lord?" The Lord said, "Send your angel to his angel.” That was it. She did it and went home. About an hour later it came over the news that for some unknown reason this man had released this little child perfectly safe. So it is good to try to find out how God wants to work and what He wants you to do as far as your intercession goes.
Also we come against spirits of blockage a lot. They will try to block or confuse us when discerning. The team starts to get confused and different scriptures or images show up and nothing makes sense. We just stop and take authority over the spirit of games and the spirit of confusion. Tremendous spirits of anger are moving today. They are powerful and they lead the spirits of rage and hate and can lead to murder as well. So we bind all spirits of anger and beg for God's healing because usually at the root of anger will be unforgiveness. Anger is almost a protection for people, "As long as I can stay angry, I am not going to get hurt. You are not going to get that close to me. I can hold you at arm's length if I remain angry." Once we let anger go we are defenseless. The evil spirits of anger understand that and they come in and try to keep us more and more angry, keep us more unforgiving. "Who do you people think you are, a doormat? Are you going to let them talk to you that way, let them walk all over you?" Evil spirits will keep putting these thoughts in our mind to keep us angry, to keep us from forgiving as well.
You've probably heard of the Jezebel spirit, it's very dominant in the Old Testament and in the Book of Revelations. Jezebel, even though it sounds like it's a woman and in the Old Testament is depicted as a woman, is really satan, very concealed, very camouflaged, very deadly. Did you notice that in the movie, "The Passion of the Christ,” satan was depicted as a woman? He often comes that way - very much like he is feminine, like he is surrendered, like he is something good. Be very very careful. He is very concealing. This spirit will always undermine authentic authority, whether it's parental, Church or any kind of authentic authority. We didn't even know there was such a spirit, that Satan operated that way, until somebody came to our center one time. He had asked if he could come out over on his lunch hour just to pray. We have chapels in all of our houses and we said, "fine.” After a while he started sharing with us some of the things he was getting in prayer and they were messages from Our Lady. We were not comfortable with them although they sounded ok. They sounded even scriptural. But, remember, Jesus remember said to Satan in the desert, "Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.” Have you ever heard people quote Scripture, but you know that it is not coming from God? You learn to tell the difference. We notified our Archbishop and the man’s spiritual director. Finally a message came from Our Lady through this person that she wanted us to call together all the priests of our diocese so that she could speak to them now. That is very dangerous if it is not Our Lady. That could lead all of our priests another way because they would believe us that Our Lady is appearing to this person in prayer and speaking. We were in a dilemma. Suppose it really was Our Lady and we are blocking her from speaking to her priests? But, suppose it was not Our Lady? We really didn't know. We gathered around the Blessed Sacrament and prayed, “ We are not moving until you tell us. What spirit is this? It looks so good. We would love it to be Our Lady because we are all consecrated to Our Lady and we love Our Lady. But Lord, we have to know one way or another.”
We had an image of a woman walking toward us in imagery. She was dressed in white and she had a veil across her face, she was all veil. It was kind dusk and very obscure. I thought, "It is Our Lady". So when she got right in front of me I said, "Who are you? I need to see. Are you Mary?" She was so angry at "who are you" that she pulled the veil across from her face and it was the ugliest looking beast-like face I have ever seen in my life. This was this Jezebel, this feminine side of satan, although there is nothing in satan that is feminine, believe me. It was definitely deception. She was very angry. I remember that she shook her bony finger at me and she said, "I'll be back, Dearie.” She calls us "Dearie" a lot. If you ever have anybody call you "Dearie" in prayer it just might be Jezebel. She doesn't like to be found out.
